At Manchester Acoustic Guitar, we want to give more than just the opportunity to get up and perform to people. Obviously, the open mic session is a big part of MAG, but we want you to be able to go away from meetings with some new found knowledge relating to acoustic guitars and/or acoustic music. To this end, we will be getting top quality musicians to come along and host workshops every second month, focussing on a specific technique or style of playing. Furthermore, the intervening months will feature a 45-minute set from such MAGnificent artists as Andy Mackenzie, Noel Maher or Acoustic Moods, in some cases following on from the previous month's workshop.

The band was tuning guitars, and settling into getting ready to play... Read the full review
12th December 2006 - Musik and Musing at Christmas Tyme
Manchester Acoustic Guitar's first Celebrity Concert, and what a concert it was! Described as Musik and Musings at Christmas Tyme the lucky audience were witness to a true folk music legend, Ashley Hutchings, late of Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention and still playing in the Albion Band, on his 4-string acoustic bass, along with Steve Marsh on classical guitar, and soprano Judy Dunlop in some marvelously evocative Christmas-flavoured goodies...
